ATA - Associazione Tecnica dell'Automobile was founded on 3 January 1948, in order to increase a technical awareness about the automobile field in Italy.

ATA is one of the founding organizations of

FISITA (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Ingénieurs des Techniques de l'Automobile), formed in 1948, and

of EAEC (European Automobile Engineers Cooperation) founded in 1984.
