AVL LIST is the greatest private group that operates in the internal combustion engine Powertrain sector and the connected instrumentation. The Company was founded in 1948 by Prof. Hans List, and is currently managed by his son Prof. Helmut List. The company is divided in 2 departments: MOT and MES. The MOT department deals with engine design and powerpack, vehicle calibration, research and development on advanced combustion systems. The design includes diesel, gasoline, hybrid engines for the Automotive market and for the commercial vehicle market. The MES department deals with measurement instrumentation applied to internal combustion engines, emissions systems, software and hardware for the engines control and automation for engine test beds, engine test beds turn key projects and gas emissions laboratories.
